About The Society for Constitutional Law Discussion

The Society For Constitutional Law Discussion has been established by some of the students of Chanakya National Law University, Patna, with a vision to provide a platform for discourse and deliberation about constitutional law where you can write and express your opinion of different issues related to constitutional law fearlessly. The Society, through its E-magazine and blogs, intends to serve as a platform for students, academicians, and practitioners to engage in constitutional law discussion and writing.

About the Webinar/ Concept Note

Government counsels are legal advisers to the government and appear for the government in different courts throughout the country. They play a crucial role in the justice delivery system in any part of the world.

The key idea of the webinar is to introduce you to the practical role of the government counsel in the justice delivery system. The conversation shall not only provide an insight into the role of government counsel but also highlight the opportunities to be a government counsel. The webinar shall also delve into the questions of impartiality of the government counsels and also the constitutional provisions related to the government counsel.

About the Speaker

Mr. Jayant Bhatt is an independent legal practitioner who is an alumnus of the National University of Singapore (NUS) and the New York University (NYU), the USA, where he completed his masters. He has worked in the prestigious law firm Clyde & CO. LLP in Dubai for 2 years before moving back to India. Currently, he is a Senior Panel Counsel for the Government of India in the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi. In addition, he is a member of the Supreme Court Bar Association and Delhi High Court Bar Association. He has a keen interest in mentoring young minds and has been a prolific speaker on various platforms.
