About Me
Dr. Astha Mehta is currently the Head of the Department (HOD) at the School of Legal Studies, Apeejay Stya University. Prior to her current position, she served as the Head of the Department (HOD) at the School of Law, Sushant University.
With over 12 years of academic and industry experience, Dr. Mehta brings a wealth of knowledge, passion, and leadership to her role. Her academic journey began with a B.A. LL.B. (Hons) from the prestigious NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad, followed by an LL.M. in Business Law from Amity Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, Amity University, where she was awarded a Gold Medal for her exceptional academic performance. Dr. Mehta completed her doctorate with a focus on Limited Liability Partnerships, providing a comparative analysis between India and Singapore. Her research interests continue to be centered around business law and legal reforms, and she has authored several research articles published in both national and international journals. She has also presented papers at numerous conferences and seminars, contributing to the ongoing discourse on contemporary legal issues.
Dr. Mehta is known for her innovative and interactive teaching style, which engages students and fosters critical thinking. She adeptly handles administrative functions and demonstrates exceptional leadership in her role. Apart from specializing in designing innovative curriculum that accommodates multiple intelligences and reaches all learning styles, she is deeply involved in training students to be ‘industry-ready’ as the Head of the Department and ensure their holistic development demonstrating exceptional leadership in her role.
She was also invited to train the Judges and Advocates of the High Court and District Courts in Manipur on Mediation Skills. She has been actively taking workshops on client counselling. Her efforts are directed at bridging the gap between academia and industry, with a focus on preparing students to be "industry-ready."
